Assignment #2: Favorite Technology
Description: In a 4-5 page paper, describe your favorite technology in relation to yourself. (informative) You are required to research and properly document (using APA, MLA, or Chicago style) a history of a particular technology (who created it, when, where, and why) as well as your history with that particular technology. As part of the assignment, you will not use that particular technology for 48 hours and include that experience in your paper.
Goal: To inform the audience about a history or and your history with your favorite technology. Building off of your identity essay, consider your favorite technology. You may want to consider questions such as: What technology do you find most useful and why? What values are built into the technology? What do you use this technology for? Who created this technology and what was this technology created for? How would you describe this particular technology? How did you come to use this technology? How has this technology changed/adapted your identity? How do you respond to being apart from this technology? How have you changed/adapted this technology? What examples of using this technology would help define who you are? How have you responded to being apart from this technology? How would you improve this technology?
Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to clarify your prosthetic identity.
Audience and Context: Your instructor and peers at Michigan Tech. I encourage you to use a first-person, narrative style. Include relevant images.
